Our fantastic fan base for our beloved Las Vegas Aces held the first ever watch party this year on Friday May 31, 2019. In our Inaugural season last year, many of us talked about putting together watch parties for away games, but nothing ever transpired. This year a little chatter was had amongst the fans and I decided to just jump out there and see what we could put together.
So in very quick fashion, I was able to find a location that would host us. We had to be certain that not only would the venue show the game with sound on, but that it could also embrace all fans to include things like: free parking, child & family friendly, and affordable menu prices. We were blessed to have MacKenzie River Pizza & Grill (located inside of City National Arena) in Summerlin be the first location.
I began publishing things on social media, including an event on Facebook. Before we knew it, several press outlets picked up on the event and helped push it for us to a much broader audience. Within literally a few days time, we had gained quite a bit of interest. When it came time for the first Las Vegas Aces watch party, we had roughly 75 people in attendance.
What a night!
Thank you all who came out to join us. Here were the original details of the event that were posted:
Announcing our first ever Las Vegas Aces fans watch party! This is completely fan driven, so help us make it a great one! Our beloved Aces will be playing this year’s first away game on Friday May 31. The game will start at 7:00 pm. We have been able to find an excellent location that has agreed to show it on big TV’s with sound. And the best part is that it’s a family friendly spot. So all ages are welcome.
Food and beverage will be available for purchase. Typical pricing for dishes there ranges from around $6 to $16. Obviously we want to encourage everyone to order food and drink to properly patronize the location for having us. So come early and grab a bite to eat while enjoying the game!
We have such a wonderful fan base and everyone is just fantastic. So I’m hoping to get to know more of you and share our passion for this amazing team that we are blessed to have.
